Land use changes and zoning proposal for the Canton of Montecristi. Ecuador (2010 – 2017)

The present work aims to analyze the changes in land uses in the Montecristi canton, Ecuador, between 2010 and 2017, identify trends and natural physical conditions that limit occupation to subsequently formulate a proposal for land use zoning as an instrument for the administration and control of territorial occupation, minimize impacts, catastrophes and conflicts of uses. The canton of Montecristi is part of the province of Manabí, its economy is based on industry, agriculture, tourism and commerce, it registers conflicts of uses and environmental impacts that decrease the quality of life of the population. For the analysis of the changes in the uses and formulation of the proposal, it was: (i) elaborated a comprehensive diagnosis of the natural and socioeconomic physical conditions to identify the socio-natural threats and risks; (ii) subsequently, spatial temporal analysis of land-use changes between 2010 and 2017; (iii) identification of the causes and consequences of the changes and; (iv) formulation of a land-use zoning proposal for the year 2030. As a result, the following are: (i) growth in urban, agricultural and livestock areas and; (ii) the decline in forest uses and vegetation cover, accompanied by the emergence of conflicts of uses that impact biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services. A proposed zoning formula is proposed to guide the management and administration of the occupation in order to create more habitable and safe territories, in the medium and long term.

Morphological characterization of the native strain of Rhizobium sp. obtained from the root nodules of the pea crop (Pisum sativum L.) pink variety in the canton Espejo province of Carchi

Nitrogen-fixing bacteria and legumes maintain a symbiotic relationship that allows them to obtain nutrients efficiently, however, there is little information on the morphological characteristics and adequate conservation medium of the bacteria that nodulate in the root system of the pink variety of pea. (Pisum sativum L.). The objective of this research was to isolate and conserve native strains of Rhizobium sp., From the root nodules of the pea crop, a pink variety, for which the field pea cultivation was established in the Espejo canton, Carchi province. To obtain the nodules in the field, a random zigzag sampling of young and vigorous plants in the phenological stage of flowering was carried out. 3 plants were taken at 5 sampling points, for a total of 15 plants from the lot. The nodules obtained were taken to the laboratory and planted in Yeast Mannitol Agar with Bromothymol Blue (YMA + AB). The native strains of Rhizobium were morphologically characterized, where colonies of circular, convex shape with entire edge and smooth surface, of a creamy-pink white color and gelatinous consistency were observed, and by means of Gram staining, Gram negative bacilli were reported. carried out the biochemical characterization, where it was possible to identify the native strain of Rhizobium, due to its positive reaction to the Biuret test, resistance to 2% NaCl, and inability to produce H2S, typical characteristics of rhizobia strains. Furthermore, an essential element in the identification was the lack of absorption of the Congo red dye. The isolated strain was preserved in YMA + AB medium, and then incubated at 30 ° C for 5 days and, under aseptic conditions, the strain was placed in a refrigerator at a temperature of 4 ° C, to preserve the genetic integrity of the microorganism.

Conflicto humano–oso andino (Tremarctos ornatus) en la parroquia Plaza Gutiérrez, Cotacachi, Ecuador: percepción de los afectados y estrategias de mitigación

In Ecuador, the Andean bear (Tremarctos ornatus) is listed in danger of extinction as result of the anthropic activities impacts. In Plaza Gutiérrez Parish, Imbabura province, attacks on corn crops and cattle have been reported, generating an Andean human-bear conflict. The aim of the study was to analyze the perception of inhabitants affected by the Andean bear-human conflict in order to incorporate this variable in the mitigation strategies construction. A survey was applied to 20 residents affected by bear attacks in the parish, visiting and georeferencing each property. The information collected was shared with affected and key stakeholders in a participatory workshop held to build, by consensus, conservation strategies. The presence of the bear in the area was ratified by those affected, considering it a harmful species (80%) and rating the interaction with a medium intensity (75%) to high (20%). Economic damage in the 2013-2018 period was estimated at US $ 21,055, and corn the most affected item. The assessment of the species by the affected population indicated two trends: the first was to conceive it as a harmful species, due to the effects generated on their properties. The second was to highlight his value and respect as a living being. The proposed solutions focused on promoting sustainable agriculture and livestock practices to reduce bear attacks in the parish.

Evaluación de los indicadores en el marco de la Agenda 2030 a partir de datos censales en las Islas Galápagos: Un aporte al desarrollo local

Censuses are a more important and extensive primary source of statistical information, given their periodicity, their evolution can be evaluated, in addition, censuses are an instrument with a set of variables that are transformed into indicators of compliance with the sustainable development objectives. at the national, provincial, cantonal, etc. The proposed objectives were: i) Characterize the sociodemographic conditions in the Galapagos Islands based on census data, ii) Identify the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, disaggregated by urban and rural area to from the census record. The study area was the Galapagos Islands, subdivided into the three cantons and segmented into urban and rural areas. The REDATAM version 7 program, created by the Latin American and Caribbean Demographic Center, was used, and the 2015 Galapagos census data was used. Eight demographic variables and two housing indicators were identified: 1) population that has water supply services and 2) population with access to electricity. In the population pyramid of the three cantons Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz. Similar dynamics were identified, where there are potential migratory processes in the young population; the population rate in Santa Cruz is 130 inhab/km2, higher than those in San Cristóbal and Isabela, among the three cantons the average rate of children per woman is 0.32. There are 13 types of homes distributed heterogeneously in the study area, the proportion of homes that have safely managed drinking water is higher in the urban sector than in the rural sector, and Santa Cruz is the area with the greatest development than the other cantons. , while the proportion of the population that has access to electricity in the rural sector at the cantonal level is 4.7 times less than in the urban sector. Critical points for the development of the urban and rural sector of Galapagos were identified, being a strength for decision-making by political managers at the cantonal and sectoral level.

Emprendimiento rural y los factores asociados con el desempeño organizacional

Los agronegocios tienen un impacto importante en el desarrollo local, que va desde la producción y ventas de sus productos hasta el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los actores; ya que trasciende al ámbito individual de las familias provocando beneficios sociales como salud, educación y alimentación. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer en mayor profundidad el emprendimiento rural (agronegocio) y el desempeño organizacional. Este trabajo se desarrolló bajo una investigación documental de fuentes secundarias para conocer los factores asociados al desempeño organizacional de los emprendimientos rurales (agronegocios) y de fuentes primarias para indagar los agronegocios en producción de plátano. Entre los resultados se evidencia muy poca investigación sobre el emprendimiento rural, mientras que, en el campo del desempeño organizacional de los agronegocios se identificó elementos considerables como Capacidad organizacional, Motivación y Entorno. Como conclusiones se destacan que los emprendedores de los agronegocios de plátano carecen de una educación administrativa sumado a ello, una débil actitud para la innovación; sin embargo, estos emprendimientos del sector primario se vislumbran como una cadena productiva, con un gran potencial para crecer, aportar al desarrollo local, disminuir los índices de desempleo, pero, sobre todo, impulsar el crecimiento económico de las familias.

The final investigation has as its object the generation of value campaigns in a Latin American institution, for this, it reviews the critical currents of Latin American communicational thought in the organization that are collected here and considers enactive strategic communication (Massoni, 2019) as practical alternative to democratize internal communication in a hierarchical institution. This article is a review of the bibliography and authors who have marked an alternate path in organizational communication in Latin America, based on a humanized, non-elitist, democratic, and non-commodified model (Beltrán, 1983), and which, in the last decade they consolidate communication models of study and action with their own methodologies such as the metaperspective proposed by Sandra Massoni (2018).

The objective of this investigation is to establish the importance of the application of the principle of proportionality in the sanctioning resolutions of administrative law, specifically the subject to be analyzed is the imposition and collection of the fines generated due to the non-compliance with the payment of the use of the tramway in the city of Cuenca, during the first semester of the year 2021; fact that is of great importance to ensure compliance with the Constitution and the fundamental rights of citizens who use this means of mass transportation.

Constitutional principles are mandatory, the same ones that coexist with other rights and principles of the same nature with which they may conflict, so judges must weigh the principles so that one prevails over the other, to know which principle will prevail, the costs and benefits that such a decision would entail must be analyzed. It has been established that the principle of proportionality must be applied in a mandatory manner in all administrative sanctions in order not to violate the fundamental rights of those sanctioned, which must comply with certain parameters for its application, which is why its study it becomes necessary.

In relation to the methodology, the deductive method focused on delimiting the object of knowledge will be applied starting from the general to the particular in the established area of study. In the same way, the research is exploratory for which the qualitative and quantitative method will be applied. As research techniques to verify the degree of satisfaction of the mentioned policies and the quality of the public service, structured surveys will be used to a considerable sample of the population of the territory.

At the end of the investigation, it will be concluded that the principle of proportionality must be applied for the imposition of fines for non-payment of tram users in the city of Cuenca, in order to guarantee due process.

Una revisión sistemática de literatura sobre los hábitos de lectura en estudiantes universitarios

The formation of the habit of reading contributes to the development of language skills. Therefore, the task has become fundamental to academic and professional success in education. However, when it comes to the subject, there are different opinions; in general, having this habit is essential to acquire all kinds of knowledge. Therefore, the present study is a systematic review of the literature (SRL) in search of techniques that allow acquiring and improving the habit and the impact it generates when reading well. Twenty scientific articles extracted from bibliographic databases, such as ScienceDirect, Scopus, Dialnet, and IEEE, were analyzed and compiled. The scientific literature answers the two research questions proposed in this bibliographic study. The research results determined that promoting and acquiring a reading habit improves social and human conditions; it also contributes to the development of cognitive aspects and active participation in daily life

Estrategia de juegos virtuales basada en la transposición didáctica y su incidencia en la enseñanza efectiva del idioma portugués

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la incidencia de la estrategia de juegos virtuales basada en la transposición didáctica en la enseñanza efectiva del idioma portugués en estudiantes del décimo año de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa Particular Cruz del Norte. La investigación adoptó un enfoque descriptivo, combinando métodos bibliográficos y de campo. Se aplicó un diseño descriptivo, utilizando técnicas de encuesta y una ficha de observación para recopilar datos de 102 estudiantes de cuatro paralelos. Los resultados de la encuesta demostraron que el 93% de los encuestados, están a favor de utilizar tecnología para mejorar el aprendizaje del idioma portugués. Esta respuesta indica que los encuestados tienen una percepción positiva sobre el uso de la tecnología en el aprendizaje de idiomas, y están abiertos a utilizarla como una herramienta de apoyo para mejorar su nivel de comprensión y expresión en el idioma portugués, mientras que los de la observación directa demuestra que la estrategia de juegos virtuales basada en la transposición didáctica tiene un impacto positivo en la enseñanza efectiva del idioma portugués, siendo una herramienta útil para complementar las clases tradicionales y mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Por lo tanto, se concluye que la inclusión de estrategias lúdicas y TIC en la enseñanza del idioma portugués se ha comprobado como un recurso efectivo y motivador para los estudiantes. Al utilizar estas herramientas, los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de experimentar un aprendizaje más dinámico y participativo que les permite mejorar su comprensión y expresión del idioma.

Dispositivo IoT para prevenir la violencia de género usando TinyML

The study is framed within the development of a solution based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning to prevent and detect dangerous situations related to Gender Based Violence (GBV). The goal is to provide a useful and accessible tool for women at risk, thus contributing to the prevention and reduction of GBV.

The problem addressed by the study is gender-based violence, an issue of great social and humanitarian relevance. It seeks to use digital technologies and machine learning to detect words associated with dangerous situations and prevent GBV in real time.

To address the problem, a public data set created by Microsoft containing audio samples of different words, including words associated with dangerous situations such as "yes" and "no", as well as other words and static noise, is used.

Audio data in WAV format is used, divided into one-second windows with a sampling rate of 16000 Hz. A homogeneous data window with a duration of one second is selected and the frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) is used to highlight the human voice and reduce background noise.

The developed model showed good overall performance, with an average efficiency of 91.3% in the training set and 85.83% in the evaluation set. High accuracy was obtained in the detection of words associated with danger situations, such as "yes" and "no". It is recognized that technology has a significant role to play in addressing GBV, but it also emphasizes the need for a commitment from society and governments to achieve lasting and significant change in eradicating this problem worldwide
